Breaking up is hard to do...

Hey everyone i know it's been forever since my last post. I guess you can say a lot has been going on. Jeff and I, after 2+ years of dating, 2 pugs, and 1 apartment have decided to call it quits. It's obviously very personal and not appropriate for a pug blog but that's what i've been dealing with.

We are each moving to a 1 bedroom apt in our same big complex and after long deliberation over what would be best for the pugs we have decided to have joint custody. I work 12 hour shifts every other day so it would be impossible for me to take care of them myself and i couldn't live without them. Therefore they will still be in both of our lives and we won't separate them. They will spend my days off with me and every other with Jeff. I know we both are willing to make it work.

I'm planning on getting back to blogging very soon, definitely after our move (next weekend). We're both concerned about how the pugs will adapt but i know as long as they are together they will be fine. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Feel free to email me if you have some advice @ vhyst at hotmail dot com.

Please check back often, i have a ton of pictures and pug stories to post after the move :-)

I am so sorry to hear about this...but it sounds like you are both being reasonable, mature adults about it. I think what you are doing for the dogs is great and the best possible situation. Good luck on the move - looking forward to seeing some new pics.

I'm so sorry. Ihope you are doing alright.. your pugs will be happy to offer you all the comfort they can.

The moving in general will take a bit of time for the pugs to get used it, but since it isn't very far that they are moving, it shouldn't be too much stress. Good luck.

I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I ended a bad marriage a few years ago and it was the best thing I ever did...but it was so hard. Anytime you ever want to talk, let me know and I can give you my email if you want/need.

We are very sorry to hear your news. I think it is good that you're are sharing custody of the pugs, especially as, always having two, when one is gone, the other is lost. Good luck on the move and we can't wait to see the pictures.

That's such a bummer :( I think you're doing what is best for the pugs though. Take care of you too.

I am soooo sorry you have to go through this! When I left my ex husband I had to decide which pug to take. I had a fawn pug, Daisy, who I had first and then Winston. I took Winston.. Daisy was a "daddys girl" and Wu was always by my side. It took him a while to adjust but I was lucky since I moved home with my folks and my mom is retired so she was home with him all day. I tried to keep our routine the same at night and mornings. Hang in there!!!!

Oh "V" I am sooooo sorry to hear this. At least you still have Bella and Perogi to help you though the rough parts. Sounds like the best arraignment for all of you... I hope nothing but the very best for you... (( Hugs))

First time I am visiting your blog and such a sad circumstance - my timing has always been off.

I hope your move goes smoothly and congratulations on working out puppy custody.
