Hey everyone, sorry i have been MIA with posting. I wish i could say i've been so busy, but besides working on my tan at my pool and working i've been super unproductive with life. It's so hard to spend the day at the computer when it's so nice outside. My picture taking has also seemed to be nonexistent lately. I'm in a summer slump!

The Pugs are doing really well, they've been just chillaxing, wrestling with eachother, and eating everything in site. Bella has been "bootscooting" a lot lately so i'm gonna have to take her to the vet to get her anal glands expressed. Boy, let me tell you is she not a fan of that. For some reason her anal glands get full soooo fast, we haven't had any issues with Perogi yet.

Anyway here are some recent pics of the babies and a recent play date with Perogi's biological sister Tressie with my friend Chelsea.

This is Chelsea with Tressie and Bella. It's so cute when she comes over. You can totally tell that her and Perogi are related. They have the same doggyisms and love being with eachother.

I'm back, all moved in and ready to get on with my life, and my blog :) A big thank you to everyone for all your support and kind words. Breakups are never easy and it's nice to know people have gone through the same thing.

Bella and Perogi are doing great! They are adjusting well to their new lifestyle. It's lonely sleeping without them some nights but it makes seeing them even more worth it.

Even though our lives have been hectic we've had some time to help dogsit some of our friends dogs. Bella and Perogi love having sleepovers and i love it b/c they get so pooped afterwards!

This is Lola. She is my friends BulldogShe is also Perogi's girlfriend. They love playing together and she is such a good dog. The only issue is that being a bulldog, she gets so tired and it's nearly impossible to walk her with Bella and Perogi. They pull on their leashes and she takes her time walking and lays down in the middle of the street if she feels like. So basically i get pulled in both directions. She's not the most active of dogs, but still so darn cute.

This is Tressie. She is Perogi's biological sister. When we first got Perogi some girl in my building stopped me and asked me what breeder i went to. I gave her their card and she went out and got Tressie. We're so lucky to live so close to her. They play so well together it's adorable. I swear they know that they are related whenever they see eachother they immediately get happy. We watched her this past week while her owners were in florida. She's adorable. Perogi's mom was fawn and his dad was apricot so that's why they are different colors. We are actually gonna have a joint bday party for them in august :)

Hey everyone i know it's been forever since my last post. I guess you can say a lot has been going on. Jeff and I, after 2+ years of dating, 2 pugs, and 1 apartment have decided to call it quits. It's obviously very personal and not appropriate for a pug blog but that's what i've been dealing with.

We are each moving to a 1 bedroom apt in our same big complex and after long deliberation over what would be best for the pugs we have decided to have joint custody. I work 12 hour shifts every other day so it would be impossible for me to take care of them myself and i couldn't live without them. Therefore they will still be in both of our lives and we won't separate them. They will spend my days off with me and every other with Jeff. I know we both are willing to make it work.

I'm planning on getting back to blogging very soon, definitely after our move (next weekend). We're both concerned about how the pugs will adapt but i know as long as they are together they will be fine. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Feel free to email me if you have some advice @ vhyst at hotmail dot com.

Please check back often, i have a ton of pictures and pug stories to post after the move :-)

On thursday Bella turned 2 years old. I can't believe she's 2 already, it's crazy how fast the years fly by. To celebrate she wore her new birthday dress (compliments of lola) and i bought her some doggy birthday cookies, peanut butter truffles and a birthday cake stuffed toy from this really cute dog barkery by our house. Of course Perogi got to share everything as well.

Bella was the princess for the day. Wait, what am i saying? she's a proud princess everyday!! (and we love her for it) Happy birthday Bellski!

Me: I was just graduating high school (my 10 yr reunion is this year..yikes) and for the record...i HATED dogs. If you would have asked me in high school if i would ever own a dog i would without hesitation say absolutely not! Yuck! Now, i'm so obsessed with mine that i have a blog in their honor :-)

Me: Take the dogs to the groomer, pick them up, make turkey sausage ziti for work tomorrow, Go to gym to do step and body pump class, clean
Perogi: Beg mom for food while cooking, roll over many times for belly rub, lick everything in sight, obsessively play a game of fetch till Dad gets tired, nap
Bella: Cry while going to the groomer, look spectacularly adorable afterwards, follow mom around all day, burrow under the covers, bark at tv

3. Three snacks I enjoy.
Me: Baked Lays, candy specifically jelly beans,granola bites
Bella: Clementines, milkbones,anything mom and dad are eating.
Perogi: ANYTHING...because he inhales his food, he doesn't taste it or chew, just swallows.

4.Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Me: Pay off my gigantic school loans, buy a nice house with a backyard for the pugs,travel a lot!, quit my job :)

5. Three of my bad habits.
Me: Biting my nails, not putting away my clothes, watching too much reality tv
Bella: Barking at the tv, scritchy scratching on the door when she's not allowed in, being too spoiled to eat kibble without some human food on top (ie mozzarella cheese)
Perogi: Ripping up the carpet, barking off of balconys, being obsessed with toys and fetch.

Trip to Orlando

We got back from orlando this week. We were down there for Jeff's friend's wedding (from Dental School) Here's us at the wedding:

While there we also got to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We noticed a lot of photo spots, which Jeff felt the urge to take pictures of: how pretty :)

We had a blast!! btw...the new simpson's ride was amazing!! While there our friends took care of our dogs. They have the cutest bulldog, Lola who is Perogi's girlfriend. They all had a great time but made sure to give us adequate licks and kisses when we got back.

Bella and Perogi are taking part in Pug and Bugg's Sophie's next top pug model. They are so excited...This week we have to send in pictures of them with their stuffies. I've sent these...

Hey everyone! Happy May! here in DC the weather has been absolutely wonderful!! My mom sent the pugs a package. Bella received some beautiful dresses and my mom crocheted each one their own scarf (for next winter). We then had a fashion show to show off all their new items. WARNING: major cuteness below. observe at your own risk.Bella posing with new scarf. It's perfect for winter and matches her harness!Perogi looking very dapper in his scarf! So adorable.Here's the first dress my mom sent Bella. It says "love at first bark" and if you knew Bella you would find this humorous because she constantly barks at the tv with her high pitched bark. We still love her though!Here's the 2nd dress. It's a ballerina dress with a heart on it. She loved it so much she wore it all day b/c she wouldn't let me take it off.

Sorry for not updating in awhile...this was my lloooong week at work so i haven't been home much. We have taken some cute pics of the Puggies:This is Perogi's favorite spot to take a siesta. I think it's adorable that he lays in his toy box. He barely fits but that doesn't stop him!This is what happens when i come home from work! The pugs go crazy jump all over me and both must get in my lap ASAP. We don't know why the dogs came out with devil eyes.Here's Perogi just chillen in our den. Once he gets his eyes on a stuffy toy he won't let it out of his sight till we have to hide it at bedtime. He's become very ocd lately..warning never let him get you throw it for a fetch because once you do it he will want to fetch for the REST of the night.

This is what we see every morning after we walk the dogs, give them breakfast while we go back to bed. It's inevitable that they will scratch on the bed till we give in and let them come up. Sometimes we are lucky and they cuddle up and go back to bed...most times they start wrestling and playing while we're trying to sleep :( but seriously how can you say no to their cute little punums? (mom did i spell that right??)

We just discovered stumbleupon.com and in the past hour it has totally changed my life. Everyone needs to go get it. They put a little tool bar on your browser and a button you click that will pop up a random web site from a bunch of topics you choose from. The sites are all really interesting, and when you get bored with it, click the button again for a new one.

Every since uniquedaily.com went down I've been bored with the internet 0 spent most of my time reluctantly following Jamie-lynn spears pregnancy or whatever. Now the internet is fun again.

As we were driving past the pentagon the other day this thing flew over our heads and landed right there. The pic doesn't show it well, but that is the largest helicopter I've ever seen. You could fit a tank in it if you were so inclined. Where else do you get to see stuff like that?

This kid sat next to me at the hockey game the other night. That says "obama" on his head. I was kind of scared of him.

These are almost too adorable for words. Jeff's mom bought these for us (thanks Lillian!) She was also the one who bought us the pug tape dispenser that was a big hit. I don't know where she finds such adorable pug items. They are especially perfect for us because we have 1 "salt" colored pug and 1 "pepper" colored one. they also have magnets on their noses so they are kissing salt and pepper shakers. We love them!!

Pugs try out the new convertible

They approve!!! On easter we tied them up in the backseat of the car and drove home from Jeff's mom's house. We didn't know if they'd like being in a convertible. Well they had a blast. It was gorgeous out and they loved the fresh air and the sun. Perogi kept on sniffing the air, it was too cute.

Perogi loves his toys and he loves to eat..combine them and what do you get?? Well let me tell you. Perogi has been having intestinal issues the past couple of weeks. He acts fine except he gets the runs. A couple nights ago he jumped off the bed so i dart after him and he starts heaving heavily. All of a sudden he throws up and something was odd about it. It looked like he puked up a mouse. What did i discover???:

He did puke up a mouse, a blue and white plaid stuffed one that is. For everyone's sake, i spared you the actually picture and took a picture of the same toy only red.We couldn't believe it. I am still perplexed on how such a little puggie could have swallowed whole a stuffed mouse. That seems to have been the source of his tummy issues because now he's doing great. Jeff and i now have to watch what he plays with. It amazes me how different our 2 pugs are. Bella, in order for her to even eat a treat, she has to sniff it for a while then lick it a couple of times then decides whether or not it's worth daintily eating. Perogi on the other hand, will bite your hand if you even put something near his mouth. Silly pugs!

Jeff got his car yesterday (Finally)! Of course it's been beautiful out all week and the day he goes to pick it up it's pouring rain out. You can hardly put the top down in weather like this! Yay, so our computer works. We had a broken harddrive with all our pics and our itunes and NO WE DIDN'T BACKUP! So now we have to find some way to get everything off. Luckily we have iphones so every single song and picture that was on our computer is on our iphone. The only problem is that Jeff and I don't know how to get the songs/pics off the phone to our computer. Apple is sneaky like that. We have to give them a call.

Perogi is doing MUCH better and Jeff and I feel like ourselves again. Perogi is such a mischievous little puggie. The other night when it was time to go to bed Perogi went under the bed and made a hole in the netting at the bottom of the box spring. He then was running all around IN our boxspring...and couldn't get out. He started crying. Jeff went to help and after making more holes took this picture:

He was stuck between the boxspring netting and the wood of our bed. Silly Puggie. He finally was freed by his dad and was told never to do that again. We'll see.....

It's been one long, anything but fun, weekend
1. Our computer crashed!!!!! I come home from work on thursday and the computer is black so i restarted it. Jeff comes home and restarts it thinking i did something. Fast forward 24 hours....still not working. Jeff called our good friends at Dell and turns out our hard drive blew out. Our HARDDRIVE with ALL our pics, our thousands of itunes!! They are gonna send us a new harddrive and we're gonna TRY to get our stuff off our old one. Whenever they say they will try it means in computer language that there's no chance :(
2. Since Wednesday poor Perogi has had stomach issues. He's had the doggie equivalent of the "runs" (all over our carpet). Let me just tell you...definitely not fun times, especially since we just cleaned out carpets a couple weeks back http://bellaandperogi.blogspot.com/2008/02/rug-doctor-is-in.html He got better towards friday but got worse this weekend. Took him to the vet and they gave him flagyl and food to eat. He's acting fine, but he's going to the bathroom like 10 times a day and it's not solid :( Poor thing....i hope he gets better! It's so hard seeing your poor puggie under the weather.
3. Jeff and i celebrated our 2nd anniversary on saturday but had to cancel our dinner reserva b/c we felt like poop. Turns out i think we both have a form of the flu. Fever, chills,lethargy,nausea (you know all the fun stuff)

So now i'm at work hoping 6pm comes soon so i can join the rest of my sick family at home. Obviously i won't be able to post until our computer gets fixed, hopefully by the end of the week. i'll keep you guys posted, no pun intended :)

Wanna buy a Mini??

Jeff bought a new car (yay) so he has to sell his old one. By old i mean 2 years old. It's a mini cooper s. It's super cute and super fast. See below. If anyone is interested let us know!

Now onto pug related news....We can definitely say that Perogi is officially trained!! Yipee!! He's only 6 months but has not had an accident in the house in forever. Jeff couldn't get home from work to walk them and we left him out of his crate yesterday. We came home at 5 to find 2 perfect puggies waiting anxiously to go out. We're so proud of him!! (At 6 months Bella was NOWHERE near trained)

We got a special delivery for the Puggies recently. My mom sent us a package with new outfits for the kids. They loved em!! We all know Bella loves getting dressed up but i didn't realize how much perogi likes it as well. He was strutting his stuff all over the apt.

This is Perogi's bomber jacket. Doesn't he look so handsome?

She also bought him a velour hoodie for when he works out. It has studs all across the bottom and hood and it says "punk pup". hehe

Bella was not forgotten. She got a tshirt that says "local celebrity". It's perfect for her since she prances around like she is famous and we're her entourage. She did win the first ever pet of the month at our apartment complex :)

Deep Creek Lake

For Jeff's birthday we rented a cabin at Deep Creek lake and invited a bunch of his friends to celebrate. It is so wondeful there. The house was right on the lake, which was completely frozen.

I had my friend Tammy bring a cake for Jeff so he wouldn't see it and we surprised him.

If you can't read it well that top says "happy 29th birthday Jeff" He loved it and had to have a taste immediately :)

The next day we all went for a walk on the lake. There was even a family ice fishing. It was pretty cool even though in the back of my mind i was freaking out that i could fall in. I was assured that it was frozen solid, but you never know

Oh and guess what??? Jeff stopped smoking on monday!! So as of today, he's 3 days smoke free. He's taking Chantix and using Nicorette gum. I'm soooo proud of him.

No, it's not what you are thinking...this is a pg rated site. Silly readers! I bought Jeff a Hugo Boss suit for his birthday. He looks sooo good in it. What do you think? He wore it to our Valentine's dinner.

We didn't do too much for Valentine's day b/c Jeff's birthday is the day after and he thinks it takes away from his special day. We usually just go out to dinner. This year we went to Morton's. It was delish. I got the surf and turf. I took a picture of it while noone was looking.

The pugs weren't left out of the equation. They got a package from their grandparents Ken and Debbie in CT. (we got some chocolates too..yummy)

Red Sunset and Doggie Friends

Sorry the posts are slow coming but i've been lazy. It has been SOOOO cold here and i have little motivation to do much of anything.

Anywho, the other morning we woke up to a red bedroom. It was the strangest thing, the sun coming through our window shone a beautiful color red. Jeff quickly snatched some pictures from our balcony. They don't truly depict the red that we saw but you get the idea:

Later that day we had some friends over and they brought bella and perogi's friends. it was our own little puppie meetup.

The Rug Doctor is in!

Last night i came to the realization that our carpet looked gross due to all the puppy training that has taken place. I know that this is every puppy owner's reality but now that Perogi is 6months old, and for the most part trained, it was time to do a little carpet cleaning. I wish i had a before picture to show you but it was too embarrassing to put on camera. Here is what we used:

We rented it from Safeway for only $21!!

Our carpet looks brand new, not 1 stain has remained!!! Even Perogi is impressed. The rug doctor is really easy to use quite affordable!! So...until we move someplace that has hardwood floors and our stubborn pugs are perfectly trained, we're gonna rent this every couple of months. You would totally be surprised how much dirt and yuckiness it picked up.

Hey i just read this book today at work. Obviously we were very slow. It's super cute and definitely recommended if you own pugs. Warning to all the guys: It's definitely chic-lit. I loved it b/c it's about a girl from long island who loves pugs (like me!!!). Let me know if any of you read it or have read it.

Poor Perogi lost his manhood yesterday. He went under the knife at the Vet and was neutered. Thankfully the surgery went well. He was sooo out of it last night, it was so cute. He didn't seem like he was in much pain which made me very happy. Today he is definitely back to his normal self minus the humping :)

To make up for his surgery i bought him some very masculine clothes. He needed a new sweater and coat anyway since he gained 5 pounds in 1 month!!! (that seems unbelievable to me) He is now 18.5 lbs and Bella is only 15! Below are pics of him modeling his new wardrobe:

Hey everyone! We're back from NY. We had a wonderful time (didn't take many pics unfortunately) and we missed our puggies terribly. They had a great time with their Grandma and were SOOOO excited to see us. Here's a picture of them in the car on the way home.

Tomorrow, Jeff and I leave to go to New York to visit my family. Unfortunately we can't take the pooches. This is the first time since we got Perogi that we are leaving him, and for 4 nights!! :-( We're dropping them off at their grandma's and uncle Matt's for the long weekend. One sight of the suitcases and Bella knew what was going on. She always acts so weird when she sees us packing. I think she gave Perogi a heads up b/c he started acting mopey too.

While cleaning the house today i realized all was quiet. I found bella on the couch snuggling with her Sniffany & Co toy. Was she trying to tell me something?? I hope she realizes her bday isn't until May. Silly Bella :)

Finally, our official 1st snowstorm of the season. We got a wopping big 1.5 inches!!!! Here's the view from our doorway looking out at our courtyard. Luckily i didn't have to work so i had some time to spend it in the snow with the pooches

Bella and Perogi both remember the snow from when we were in CT recently and were none too pleased to see it again. I have to look for little booties for them b/c they hate walking in the snow, especially now that it's been raining and it's all slushy!! Hmm..wonder if they make puppy Burberry goloshes?? haha just kidding, or am i?

Perogi was really bummed that while his mom and dad were at Medieval Times he was stuck home. He thought their whole "no pets allowed policy" was bogus. He's a professional at eating without hands...

Every morning when Jeff doesn't have patients till late, this is the scene that i leave when i go to work. The level of cuteness is unbelievable and it makes it very difficult to get up and go!!

When we were in chicago, we went to the cutest dog store and i had a momentary lapse in sanity and bought bella a Juicy Couture coat for $65. Jeff thought i was crazy, and so did i (i don't even own a juicy coat) but whenever she wears it people stop us likes she's a superstar. She knows it too, so she prances around when she wears it, it's too funny

Well for christmas one of my presents from jeff was really big. I open it up to find a big coach box. I get really excited, b/c i love coach purses!!! well what did i find??

a Coach outfit for Bella!!!! as much as i love it, it was WAY too expensive, and way overboard for our dog (not to mention not a present for ME!) I joke with him that for his birthday coming up i'm gonna buy perogi an outfit from louis vuitton. Either way, bella loves it and gladly poses for the camera...notice how perogi has to get into every picture! haha, he's so adorable.

Enjoying this unusually gorgeous weather we are having in DC, i took the pugs to our friend's house. He has a pug puppy named max who is the cutest, fattest puppy i've ever seen.

max (4 months)

perogi and max couldn't get enough of eachother. They are only 1 month apart and bought from the same breeder, i wonder if they remember eachother...

We took them on a long walk around old town. Needless to say after hours of wrestling, licking and playing the are exhausted!! Gives me some down time, yay!

zonked!! now mom can get some stuff done in peace :)

ok, just recently whenever Perogi gets excited he pees a little. Today in the elevator he saw his boxer friend Tyson and was so happy he left a little present for all the other patrons in the elevator. Very embarassing for me let me tell ya (especially when i have nothing on me to clean it) Last night it happened again when he and bella were wrestling, we think she was a little agressive and he literally was so scared he peed his pants. Unfortunately in this case he peed the couch. Do any of you pug owners have any experience with this?? We're hoping he either grows out of this or it will be taken care of when he gets fixed. (jan 30th). Until then he's just our little peeing machine.

Bella loves her some beer. But only straight from the bottle. She only licks around the sides of the bottle, but you have to love the way she holds on tight. We know booze isn't good for the dogs, which is why they only get crystal meth. hehe

We threw the pugs off the bed because they were in full play mode and found them a half hour later snoozing amidst our clothes. It was cold in CT, hence the arctic gear. P.s. that is real seal fur on Bella. I clubbed it myself.

Car Fun Times

We headed up to CT to visit family over the holidays. This being Perogi's first car trip, we weren't sure what to expect. Somehow he managed to barf up three times the volume of food we gave him before he left. Cruising down the

highway at 85 mph and trying to forcefeed benadryl to a sick pug is not fun. I'm not sure whether this pic is pre- or post-yacking, but he wasn't thrilled. Bella took time to stick her tongue out at the camera.

So after reading a million pug blogs the past few months, Jeff told me he was gonna help me set one up so we can chronicle the lives of our cutest little friends. We figure since 95% of all the pictures we take are of our pugs we might as well put them to good use. We'll try to post regularly to give everyone a little entertainment...

When we don't move fast enough to get Perogi his food in the morning he tends to get angry. He took it upon himself to knock the cup of food out of my hand, saving himself 1.2 precious seconds of painful waiting.
